PHE studies JJM implementation in Karnataka

SHILLONG, July 21: PHE Minister Renikton Tongkhar and senior officials of the department are carrying out a study tour on the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the state of Karnataka.
“We have seen the water treatment plans of the water supply schemes at Uyyamballi, Kodihalli and Sathanur,” Tongkhar said.
According to him, the Karnataka Government has used HDPE pipes for the distribution of potable water to the various households; they have also installed water meter so that people can monitor the quantity of water consumed by them every day.
The PHE minister also informed that the Karnataka Government has started to draw water from River Cauvery and supply to 299 villages.
