Bravery Award
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has invited applications for bravery award, which is conferred every year upon children for exemplary acts of bravery by the Indian Council for Child Welfare. A statement in this regard informed that applications have to reach the office of the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner on or before August 30. “The main criteria for the selection of candidates is the performance of a distinct and visible act of bravery in the face of an impending threat of injury or danger to life or an act of courage and daring against a social evil/crime,” the statement added. Price revision
The West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has informed that the price of SK oil has been revised with immediate effect. A statement in this regard informed that the wholesale price of SK oil in Jowai and Thadlaskein Depot has been fixed at Rs. 45 per litre while wholesale price for Shangpung outlet has been fixed at Rs 48 per litre. The retail price in retail centres from Jowai and Thadlaskein SK Oil Depot will be at Rs 45.50 per litre and retail price in retail centres from Shangpung SK Oil outlet will be at Rs 48.50 per litre, the statement said.

Rice released
The SDO (Supply), Sohra Civil Sub-Division, has informed that free PDS rice under PMGKAY has been released to government-approved fair price shop dealers for the month of July at 5 kg per head for AAY and PHH card holders.
