DGP launches portal to monitor criminal cases

SHILLONG, July 30: Meghalaya Director General of Police, R Chandranathan, on Friday launched the Case Inventory Database portal which is designed to be exclusively used for the purpose of supervising and monitoring criminal cases registered throughout the state.
According to the police, the online monitoring system will be helpful in retrieving data of cases registered and to be updated with the investigation procedures undertaken by the investigating officers for each particular.
“The portal will also serve as the main databank for the police officials, and it will also play a vital role in reducing the pendency of cases registered in the state,” they said in a statement
The state police designed the portal with the assistance of National Informatics Centre (NIC), Meghalaya State Centre, Shillong.
