NONGPOH, Aug 11: Newly elected leaders of Ri Bhoi Durbar led by their president RB Shadap have resolved to take up the border issue on priority basis, besides pursuing several pending issues of the Durbar, as well as the overall development of Ri Bhoi.
It will also take up the demand to upgrade the Patharkhmah Administrative Unit into a civil subdivision, creation of two new C&RD blocks at Umden and Mawhati and creation of two new civil subdivisions at Umsning and Umroi.
Shadap said this during the central executive meeting of Ri Bhoi Durbar held at Nongthymmai Umsning on Wednesday to elect the new office-bearers.
In the meeting, the Durbar decided to seek an appointment with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to hand over a memorandum on the issues and demands of the Durbar.
Chief Adviser to the Government of Meghalaya, Dr DD Lapang, and other prominent leaders attended the meeting.
