‘Make Freedom Run 2.0 people’s movement’

SHILLONG/JOWAI, Aug 11: The District Youth Officer of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, East Khasi Hills, has appealed to one and all to join the nationwide celebrations of Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 and make it a people’s movement.
A statement in this regard on Wednesday said that Fit India Freedom runs will be organised in 75 villages, 744 districts and 30,000 educational institutes across India.
“This time Fit India Freedom Runs 2.0 will commence on 13th August 2021 and conclude on 2nd October 2021. The aim is to encourage people to take up fitness activities such as running and sports in their daily lives and get freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases etc,” the statement said.
WJH announces I-Day programmes
As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the District Sports Officer, West Jaintia Hills, will organise various programmes between August 13 and August 15.
In a statement on Wednesday, it was informed that on 8:30 am of August 13, a Cyclothon will be organised which will commence from Kiang Nangbah Stadium till Kiang Nangbah Memorial park, Syntu Ksiar.
The Cyclothon is being organised to raise awareness on the sacrifices made by freedom fighters of the state.
Meanwhile, on August 14 at 2 pm, a webinar on ‘Freedom fighters of the Jaintia Hills’ will be organised and on August 15, Independence Day Run will be held to remember the freedom fighters.
