Varsities host int’l workshop on youth empowerment

SHILLONG, Aug 12: The School of Education, North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) and the Centre for Extension Studies, Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, jointly organised an international workshop on ‘Youth Empowerment for Better Society’ virtually to mark International Youth Day on Thursday.
The theme for this year’s International Youth Day is ‘Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health’ as suggested by the United Nations.
Various eminent resource persons such as Prof. MC Reddeppa Reddy, Prof. BV Muralidhar, Prof. K Sudharani, Dr. RB Sathyavathi, Dr. E Mahadev Reddy, Dr. MC Obulesu from SVU, Tirupati, and Prof. C Nongbri, Dr Subhach C Arya, Dr. Rihunlang Rymbai, Dr. NA Reddy from NEHU, Shillong, Dr. Sojan Augustin from Tamil Nadu, Dr. Pavan Kumar Yadavalli from Ambo University, Ethiopia, addressed the workshop on various issues related to youth empowerment.
Around 320 participants from India and abroad participated in the hands-on activities and workshop on the Cisco Webex platform facilitated by I-STEM, IISc, Bangalore.
