NONGPOH, Aug 18: An aged man from Mawlyngkhung village under Umsning Police Outpost was killed following an assault allegedly perpetrated by his mentally-unstable brother-in-law.
As per sources, the victim, identified as Teibanskhem Nongbri, on Tuesday evening, had gone to the house of his brother-in-law, Banteilang Dkhar, with an intention to tie him up with a rope due to the frequent troubles caused by him.
However, in a tragic turn of event, Nongbri was instead reportedly assaulted by Dkhar, following which the former succumbed to his injuries.
It was also informed that during the incident, there was no one present at the house.
The villagers and family members found the body of Nongbri lying on the floor with severe head injuries.
