JOWAI, Aug 20: Curtain came down on the annual religious festival, Sein Raij Mukhla Behdeinkhlam, here on Friday with altogether 10 ‘rots’ (tableaux) being brought to the sacred pool ‘Ka Wah-Biar’ for immersion.
Various rituals were performed by the priest (or U Langdoh) along with his minister including Ki Wasan, Wania, ki Sangot, et al.
The festival, organised by Sein Raij Mukhla in West Jaintia Hills, was attended by special guest and local MLA, Wailadmiki Shylla, accompanied by nominated MDC, O Lamin, and the Dolloi of Jowai Elaka Puramon Kynjin.
Only few representatives were selected from each Sein Raij Shnong (unit of various villages) to participate in the festival owing to the present situation arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
