LONDON, Aug 29: Tottenham is the Premier League’s last remaining team with a perfect start after Son Heung-min clinched a 1-0 victory over Watford on Sunday.
It was a third successive win at the start of Nuno Espirito Santo’s first season in charge of the north London club.
The goal came in the 42nd minute after Son swung in a free kick from the left wing and Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann got it all wrong, with the ball going all the way into the far corner.
Tottenham will rely on Harry Kane for goals after the striker made his first league start of the season after his hopes of a move to Manchester City fell through.
Tottenham has nine points, two more than any other team heading into the international break.
Watford has only three points from three games after regaining promotion to the Premier League.
The win sees Santo become just the second Tottenham boss to win his first three league games in charge of the club, with the last man to accomplish that feat being Arthur Rowe in 1949.
But they were made to work hard for their victory by an accomplished Watford side who were unfortunate to concede when Son’s inswinging free-kick deceived goalkeeper Bachmann and found the bottom-right corner.
However, Xisco Munoz’s side offered plenty of attacking threat of their own.
Juraj Kucka twice failed to capitalise on good opportunities to score and Emmanuel Dennis also gave Spurs some uncomfortable moments.
Leeds, Burnley

Patrick Bamford capped a dream week with a late equaliser as Leeds extended Burnley’s winless home run to 12 games by pinching a point in a feisty Premier League affair at Turf Moor.
Chris Wood had looked set to earn Burnley all three points with a predatory finish against his old club, turning home Matthew Lowton’s shot from close range.
But Bamford, who earned his first England call-up this week just days after signing a new long-term contract, stabbed in Jamie Shackleton’s effort with time running out.
Burnley, who have not won at home since January’s victory over Aston Villa, were then left clinging on for a draw amid late Leeds pressure.
The draw leaves both sides still seeking their first league win of the season, the Clarets collecting their first point, with Leeds one point better off, having also drawn with Everton. (Agencies)
