Meghalaya’s gymnasts shine in Online Gymnastics Meet

SHILLONG, Sep 2: Meghalaya’s gymnasts shone yet again after securing medals in the Online Gymnastics Invitational Meet 2021 organised by the Achievers Gymnastics Academy from Maharashtra on Floor Exercise as informed by Lucy Mary Malngiang, general secretary of the Meghalaya Gymnastics Association. The meet was held on August 28 & 29, 2021. In the U-12 Level-1 category, Josephine Isabel Warjri won gold with a score of 8.65. Nathaniel Malngiang also won a gold medal in the U-14 Level-1 category with a score of 8.25. In U-16 Level-3, Wandalang Magdalene bagged gold after scoring 7.25 while Kynjaihun Malngiang took silver in the U-12 Level-1 category with a score of 8.05. Another medal winner, Wansaphi Bernadette earned bronze in U-10 Level-2 following her 9.1 score. The state’s gymnastics team under the Meghalaya Gymnastics Association had also won several medals in national competitions earlier this year.
