Baby found abandoned in children’s home

SHILLONG, Sep 6: An infant was found abandoned inside the campus of Lawei Baphyrnai Children Home Boys at Langkyrding Block-2, Shillong, on September 3, informed District Child Protection Officer, District Child Protection Unit, East Khasi Hills, in a statement issued here on Monday.
The District Child Protection Unit has requested those with any information about the whereabouts of the biological parents/mother or relatives of the infant to inform the office of the undersigned at the earliest. They can contact — 9089474027/ 6009132798. “The child will be declared legally free for adoption, if no response is made within a period of two months from the date of publication (of this report),” the statement said.
The infant is now under the care of the Child Welfare Committee Shillong, the statement added.
