SHILLONG, Sep 14: Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, who is also in charge of Health department, has said that the government will examine the idea of upgrading sub centres in the state into PHCs.
Replying to a query of Ranikor MLA, Pius Marwein, on the issue of upgrading Mawpud Sub Centre into PHC, the minister said that the matter is under examination.
He added that once the detailed examination is done, the sub centre can be upgraded into a PHC.
“We have around 450 sub centres in the state and we cannot just upgrade the sub centres into PHC. Massive examination is needed to be done,” Tynsong said during the ongoing Assembly session on Tuesday.
