SHILLONG, Sept 20: A large number of people along with members of the three pressure groups-KSU, FKJGP and HNYF- under the umbrella Ka Sur Ki Nong Mawlai are taking part in the sit-in demonstration at the Civil Hospital junction on Monday to demand suspension of the top police officials who were responsible in the killing of former HNLC leader Cheristerfield Thangkhiew in the alleged fake encounter on August 13 last.

The members of RBYF have also extended support to this peaceful demonstration.
It may be mentioned that the eight organizations including Seng Samla Mawlai Pyllun, HYC Mawlai Circle, HANM, MPGF, MIPF, UHM, HUAM and TULBA who were part of the Ka Sur Ki Nong Malki have now been sidelined and are not part of this protest.

It has been reported there is split within the conglomeration. These eight pressure groups are disappointed that the movement has been “hijacked” by the three organisations.
