SHILLONG, Sep 23: In a bid to make people understand the national security scenario and their responsibilities as citizens, the Meghalaya chapter of a Delhi-based organisation called Forum for Awareness of National Security organised a programme on the life of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and his contributions in India’s freedom struggle at Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI) on Wednesday.
Guest speakers of the occasion were Ambassador Rudi Warjri (Retd.) and Vice Principal of St Edmund’s College Monotosh Chakraborty.
Glowing tributes were paid to Netaji for his outstanding contribution to the cause of country’s independence from foreign yoke, including his relevance in today’s context of national security and the need for emotional integration of the entire nation for which he timelessly worked all his life, a statement issued here said.
The Forum for Awareness of National Security is a non-political and non-religious organisation with its head office in New Delhi. The Meghalaya Chapter of the organisation was started in 2019.
