House gutted in Ri Bhoi village; succour sought

NONGPOH, Oct 1: A house at Tyrso Nongkhyllep in Ri Bhoi was gutted in a fire incident which took place on Friday afternoon. No injuries have been reported in the incident.
The house belonged to a single mother who was living with her son. As per information from the Secretary of the village, Mathias Mujai, the owner of the house, Veronica Sten, and her son, were at a funeral in Ummat village when the incident happened.
When villagers saw the flames engulfing the house, they attempted to extinguish the fire but in vain.
The secretary has called upon the concerned authority as well as the elected representatives and generous individuals to come forward to support the poor family who have lost apparently everything in the fire.
