General meet
The Laitumkhrah Dorbar Shnong Pyllun in its general meeting which was reconvened after a gap of 20 years, has elected Rupert Wankhar as the president, Keith Kharshiing as general secretary besides 14 other individuals in different posts.
Dry day
The Deputy Commissioner (Excise) of East Khasi Hills has declared October 2 as dry day across the district on account of Gandhi Jayanti. All bonded warehouses, IMFL ‘OFF’ & ‘ON’ retail outlets, home delivery licencees, canteens and outstills shall remain closed on this day, the DC (Excise) said in a statement.
