MLA reviews water projects in South Shillong

SHILLONG, Oct 24: A comprehensive inspection of different projects was conducted in South Shillong by local MLA and Cabinet Minister, Sanbor Shullai, during which the MLA reviewed the implementation of the Greater Laban Water Supply Scheme and Greater Lumparing Water Supply Scheme besides the early completion of the ongoing construction of PWD roads/drains and repair as well as improvement of non-functional street lights in his Constituency.
As part of his programme, Shullai conducted a meeting-cum-inspection at Iewdak Parking Lot, Laban, in the presence of Rangbah Shnong Edward Kharwanlang, Secretary Shnong Joy Rynjah and Rangbah Dong of Dorbar Shnong Laban besides officials of PWD, PHE, Shillong Municipal Board and MePDCL. Two more meeting-cum-inspections were held at Lumsohphoh, Upper Lumparing, and Lumparing Indoor Sports Stadium, which were attended by the Dorbar Shnong members.
A resolution was adopted wherein two weeks’ time was given to all concerned departments to address the public grievances related to water supply, roads and drains, and defunct street lights within South Shillong.
The MLA has thanked the land donors, Dorbars, as well as other the stakeholders for their sustained help and efforts for the betterment of the public.
