Office-bearers
The All MeSEB Employees Staff Union elected its new office-bearers during a general meeting-cum-election at Lumkshaid Community Hall, Lower Mawprem, recently. P Wanswett, Assistant Teacher, MECL Secondary School, Kyrdemkulai, was appointed as chairman to convene the meeting. The office-bearers for the period 2021-23 are M. Lyngdoh (president), I Kharkongor (vice president), RR Marbaniang (general secretary), RP Ryntathiang (assistant general secretary), AJ Warjri (treasurer), C Marbaniang (organising secretary), B Lyngdoh (assistant organising secretary) among other members.
Webinar
The UGC-Human Resource Development Centre in collaboration with Department of Information Technology, NEHU, organised a webinar on ‘Introduction to Artificial Intelligence in Future e-Learning’ on Tuesday, which was participated by 53 persons from all over India. The theme of the programme was Artificial Intelligence and e-Learning, the introductory aspects of artificial intelligence and its impact on the life of the teachers.
Distribution
The office of the District Rural Development Agency of Ri Bhoi, on Tuesday, distributed hand sanitisers to all schools located in Nongpoh, Byrnihat and Umsning area in a bid to sensitise students on the need to take all necessary measures to prevent further outbreak of COVID-19 in the future. The distribution was sponsored by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Limited as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project and was handed over to the respective heads of the schools.
Assessment
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore, will visit Sankardev College, Shillong, for 3rd cycle of assessment and accreditation on October 27 and 28, a statement issued here by the college informed.
Notification
The Election Commission of India has accorded approval of RS Manners, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), East Khasi Hills, to be the Returning Officer of 24-Mawphlang Assembly Constituency in place of MS Sangma, ADC, East Khasi Hills. This was informed by the District Election Officer of East Khasi Hills.
