India concede penalty, go down to UAE 0-1

FUJAIRAH CITY, Oct 28: A late penalty cost India valuable points in a a heart-wrenching 0-1 defeat at the hands of hosts UAE in their second match of the AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers at Fujairah Stadium in Dubai on Wednesday night.
Incidentally, both of the Group E encounters ended in a similar fashion on the night. Oman got the better of Kyrgyz Republic thanks to a late penalty like the hosts UAE, who pipped India owing to an 82nd-minute spot-kick by Abdulla Idrees.
Igor Stimac made only one change to the team that got a 2-1 win against Oman in their previous game, having brought in Lalengmawia at the expense of Aniket Jadhav. The hosts lost 1-2 to Kyrgyz Republic in their first outing of the qualifying campaign, three days back. (UNI)
