EAC chief visits Laitkor base, seeks operational preparedness

SHILLONG, Nov 10: Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Eastern Air Command (EAC), Air Marshal DK Patnaik, visited Air Force Station, Laitkor Peak, here and asked the air warriors there to be ‘operationally focused’.
The top Indian Air Force official was received by Group Captain Sandeep Singh, Station Commander.
The AOC-in-C was given a brief presentation focussing on the operational potential and war fighting capacity of the station. He also inspected various sections of the station and took a census of ongoing works services, a statement issued here said.
During the interaction with the air warriors, Air Marshal Patnaik emphasised on the need to be operationally focused and vigilant, especially in view of the ongoing security scenario.
The AOC-in-C also pointed out that the station would be playing a key role during operations in time to come.
Air Marshal Patnaik also touched upon various initiatives undertaken by the India Air Force in terms of human resource management.
He exhorted the air warriors of the station to remain operationally focused, physically fit and mentally agile and live up to the motto and highest traditions of the IAF.
