Meet to protest against GHADC’s ‘proposal’ on B Mahal areas
TURA, Nov 15: A public meeting under the banner ‘Save B Mahal areas’ was on Monday held at Hatogaon in North Garo Hills in protest against the GHADC’s alleged proposal to implement certain projects in B Mahal areas. The GSMC, Pedaldoba regional unit, and the general public have, following the meeting, threatened to move the Meghalaya High Court over the matter. “On 6th November 2021, GHADC CEM held a meeting with his party workers at Pedaldoba Secondary School playground to clarify the doubts of the B Mahal area as mentioned in social media and he had blamed the NGOs and the committee of the region in the said meeting. He claimed that the NGOs of the region are misleading the public when it is he who is doing it,” the GSMC said.

Agri resource centre inaugurated
SHILLONG, Nov 15: A HDFC-funded agriculture resource centre, provided by AROH Foundation, has been inaugurated in Barato village of Laskein Block. According to a statement, the inaugural programme was attended by Barato Mukroh MDC, Aiborlang Shadap, as the chief guest. “This centre is provided with modern and sophisticated farming equipment like power tiller, battery-operated spray machine, irrigation pump etc., to facilitate local farmers with provision to adopt best agricultural practices so as to increase their productivity,” the statement said.
