Awareness on COVID vax, govt schemes

SHILLONG, Nov 16: The Office of District Medical & Health Officer, East Khasi Hills, under the aegis of National Health Mission, on Tuesday organised a Mini Health Mela-cum-Mega Camp at Laikyrhong village, Mawkynrew Block, during which awareness on vaccination against COVID-19, health services, and government schemes and programmes was disseminated.
Cabinet Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh, who was the chief guest during the programme, exhorted eligible people to get inoculated against COVID-19 and eschew misinformation on COVID-19 vaccination.
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Isawanda Laloo, who was the guest of honour, touched upon the high mortality rate in countries with low vaccination coverage. Free medical check-ups were conducted and camps for Aadhaar enrolment and MHIS registration were also set up.
