MAWKYRWAT, Nov 17: In a bid to contribute to the needy, the youth wing of Mawkyrwat Constituency has begun construction of a proper house for two minor orphans in Mawpon-Markhew village, South West Khasi Hills.
The two sisters — Badashisha Wartde (6) and Elisa Wartde (1) — are being looked after by their maternal grandmother, Phloran Wartde.
General secretary of the HSPDP youth wing, Elevenson Wanniang, said that members donated for the cause, while adding that the target is to complete construction of the house within a month.
Their current house, he said, was in a bad condition and could collapse at anytime.
