TURA, Nov 21: Despite the most recent clarification issued by the GHADC with regard to B Mahal areas in Pedaldoba area, the local unit of the GSMC continues to oppose the Council’s move for implementation of projects claiming that the clarification omitted certain significant issues concerning the people.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, the local body claimed that it was not opposing the development projects but the proposed one time settlement offered by the GHADC which was left out from the clarification. According to the local body, the residents of the affected area are being offered two bighas each per family for settlement for which they have to pay the GHADC an amount of Rs 40,000 each.
“Why was this arrangement left out of the clarification!? The clarification also stated that the people were happy and satisfied after the meeting on November 6. But the said meeting was mostly attended by residents of A Mahal areas,” the committee claimed, while adding that those from B Mahal areas were still oppose to the move which was why another meeting was held at Hatogaon on November 15.
