No fans at Leipzig-Man City due to lockdown measures
Leipzig, Nov 21: Manchester City’s Champions League game at Leipzig looks set to be played without fans next month due to soaring coronavirus infection rates in that part of Germany. Saxony’s government plans on Monday to exclude spectators from all professional sporting events through Dec. 12 in a bid to reduce infection rates across the state. It means the football teams Leipzig, which plays in the Bundesliga, and second division Dynamo Dresden and Erzgebirge Aue will have to play their home games in empty stadiums. Leipzig hosts Bayer Leverkusen on Nov. 28, Manchester City on Dec. 7 and Borussia Mönchengladbach on Dec. 11. (AP)

Four more Bayern players in quarantine, total climbs to 7
Berlin, Nov 21: Another four Bayern Munich players have joined Joshua Kimmich in quarantine after having contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus. The Bavarian powerhouse said Sunday that Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting and Michael Cuisance all have to self-isolate under instruction from the local health authority after having contact with a person who works closely with the team who has tested positive for COVID-19. According to German media reports the four players are unvaccinated. (AP)

Uganda Para Badminton Int’l: Sukant Kadam wins gold
Kampala Nov 21: India’s Sukant Kadam claimed a gold after two years at the Uganda Para Badminton International, while compatriot Pramod Bhagat settled for three silvers here on Sunday. World No. 5 Kadam defeated fellow Indian Nilesh Balu Gaikwad 21-16 17-21 21-10 in men’s singles summit clash in the SL4 category. In the men’s singles SL3 finals, Bhagat was defeated by his doubles partner Manoj Sarkar 19-21 16-21. In the men’s doubles, Bhagat and Sarkar lost 21-10 20-22 15-21 to their Indian counterparts Mohammad Arwaz Ansari and Deep R Bisoyee. (PTI)

Diljith, Tijil share honours in National Racing C’ship
Coimbatore, Nov 21: T.S. Diljith and Tijil Rao won a race each in the LGB Formula 4 class in Round 2 of the 24th JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship that concluded at the Kari Motor Speedway here on Sunday. The Dark Don Racing boys did not enjoy a great Saturday but bounced back strongly to wrest the top three slots on the podium in both the LGB Formula 4 races. T.S. Diljith clinched the prime spot on top of the podium in the opening race for the day. Tijil Rao, in the second race, finished ahead of his teammates Sandeep and Ashwin Datta. (PTI)
