Vax on election mode begins in Ri Bhoi

NONGPOH/TURA, Dec 6: Vaccination against COVID-19 on election mode kicked off in Ri Bhoi on Monday as health workers were seen deployed at pollings booths under Umling Block.
It may be mentioned that vaccination drives in polling stations under Umling Block will be conducted on December 6 and 7 while for polling stations under Jirang Block, the vaccination drives will be carried out on December 9 and 10.
Similarly, for Umsning Block, vaccination drives will be carried out on December 13 and 14 while for Bhoirymbong Block, similar drives will be carried out on December 16 and 17.
Meanwhile, amid the emergence of the new variant of coronavirus, Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner, RM Kurbah, has exhorted the people to get immediately inoculated. g
WGH DC directs vaccination on mission mode
Meanwhile, in West Garo Hills, Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh has suggested vaccination against COVID-19 on mission mode.
During a meeting on Monday, the DC said that come Tuesday, each department will be tasked to go for vaccination drive on a mission mode, especially in select villages under Rongram and Gambegre blocks, which have reportedly given a lukewarm response to vaccination.
According to Singh, although the 93 per cent of all eligible population have been vaccinated in the district, around seven per cent is yet to be vaccinated.
