HSPDP set to elect new chief, office-bearers on Dec 27

SHILLONG, Dec 13: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) will hold its general council meeting on December 27 to elect a new president and other office-bearers who would lead the party in the 2023 assembly elections.
The decision was taken during the party’s central executive committee meeting on Monday which was chaired by incumbent president, KP Pangniang.
Talking to reporters, Pangniang said the last general council meeting was held in 2017 when Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit was elected as president of the party.
According to him, the party had planned to hold the general council meeting in 2020 but could not do so because of the pandemic.
The party president also said they will forward the names of the new office-bearers to the Election Commission after their election on December 27.
