City to host Senior Nationals Basketball C’ship 2021

SHILLONG, Dec 14: Meghalaya Basketball Association (MBA) under the aegis of the Basketball Federation of India is set to organise the Senior Nationals Basketball Championship 2021 at St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, here from December 16.
A total of six teams – Meghalaya, Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, and Tripura – will fight it out for top honours in the men’s categories.
Meanwhile, in the women’s category only Meghalaya, Assam and Mizoram are the taking part.
The tournament will kick-off with Mizoram (men’s) taking on Tripura (men’s) at 9:00 am on December 16.
Meghalaya (men’s) will start their campaign against Manipur at 10:30 am the same day. Later in the day, at 5:30 pm, the team from Meghalaya is set to play face off the Tripura side.
Meghalaya’s women team will also be action on the first day of the tournament. They will face Mizoram after the opening ceremony.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will grace the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest at 2.00 pm.

December 17: Nagaland vs Manipur (Men) at 9:30 am; Meghalaya vs Mizoram (Men) at 11.30 am; Mizoram vs Assam (Women) at 1:30 pm; Assam vs Tripura (Men) at 3:30 pm; Nagaland vs Mizoram (Men) at 5:30 pm
December 18: Assam vs Meghalaya (Men) at 9:30 am; Manipur vs Mizoram (Men) at 11.30 am; Nagaland vs Tripura (Men) at 3:30 pm; Manipur vs Assam (Men) at 5:30 pm
December 19: Manipur vs Tripura (Men) at 9:30 am; Meghalaya vs Nagaland (Men) at 11.30 am; Meghalaya vs Assam (Men) at 3:30 pm; Assam vs Mizoram (Men) at 5:30 pm
