SHILLONG, Dec 17: Highlighting the increasing number of drug addicts in the state and their unwillingness to seek help, Social Welfare Minister Kyrmen Shylla has called for a change in the approach of the society towards drug addicts.
In a press exchange held on Friday, Shylla said that drug addicts too need love, care and respect, and as such, people should treat them equally within the society.
He added that although legal actions have to be taken whenever necessary, focus should be given to help drug addicts live a healthy and peaceful life devoid of substance abuse.
