SHILLONG, Dec 19: A day after All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) state parliamentary party chief, Mukul Sangma, accused the Congress of betraying the people by extending their support to the NPP-led MDA Government on different issues of the state, Congress MLA, PT Sawkmie, on Sunday said that Mukul’s take on the matter cannot be accepted, especially when the latter has no moral rights to speak about the Congress.
Casting aspersions on the TMC leader, Sawkmie said, “The five Congress MLAs have not betrayed the people and the party but it is the 12 MLAs, who left the party, that have betrayed us.”
Maintaining that the Congress has, in no way, betrayed the people of the state, Sawkmie said that their support to the government is based only on issues pertaining to state.
