Blaze, United Brothers, Aparajita among day’s winners

SHILLONG, Dec 22: Blaze, United Brothers and Aparajita secured wins on day 6 of the 9th Ardhendu Chaudhuri Memorial Invitational Tennis Ball Day & Night Cricket Tournament, here on Wednesday. In the first match, Blaze fielded first after winning the toss and restricted Vintage Utd to 42 runs in 6 overs before chasing down the target in 5.3 overs. Asik Alam was the Player-of-the-Match. Later, United Brothers also fielded first after winning the toss against RS & CC, who then scored 30 runs. United Brothers scored 31 in only 2.3 overs. Ankit Kumar Ojha was awarded Player-of-the-Match. In the last match of the day, Aparajita batted first after winning the toss and posted a challenging 64 runs on the board in their allotter 6 overs. Their tight bowling saw them restrict their opponents to a meagre 14 runs, thus, winning the match by 50 runs. The Player-of-the-Match award went to Kumar Sewa.
