SHILLONG, Dec 23: Mawjaw CC registered a comprehensive 97-run win against Rising CC in their Third Division Shillong Cricket League match, here on Thursday. Rising chose to bowl first after winning the toss as Mawjaw scored 144/6 in 14 overs. George Kharbuli smashed 64 runs off just 35 balls while Laxman Gurung made 31. For Rising, Faruque Hussain took 2 wickets in his three overs, giving away only 12 runs. Chasing 145 for a win, Rising CC were unable to rise to the occasion as they lost wickets at regular intervals before being bundled out for a mere 47 in 10.4 overs. Player-of-the-Match Raj Yadav wreaked havoc with the ball, finishing figures of 4/6 in 3 overs as Mawjaw won the match by 97 runs.
