SHILLONG, Dec 28: Lumpyngagad won their encounter against Lawsohtun, while Mawjam thrashed Shillong Sixers in their Shillong Cricket League, 3rd Division matches in Polo on Tuesday.
In the first game, Lumpyngagad won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 133/7 in 20 overs. Akash (45) top scored for Lumpyngagad. Lumbok (3/21) was the pick of the bowlers for Lowsohtun. In response, Lawsohtun was all-out for 123, thereby conceding the contest by 10 runs. Kyrem (44) had the best batting figures for Lawsohtun. Rohit (5/36), from Lumpyngagad was adjudged the Player of the Match.
In the second game between Mawjam CC vs Shillong Sixers, Mawjam won the toss and elected to bat. Mawjam scored 195/5 in 20 overs. Player of the Match Laxam Gurung scored a quickfire 84 runs. Sarfaraz (2/21)and Manish (2/15) bagged two wickets each. Sixers then folded for 50 runs in 9.5 overs, losing the match by 145-run margin. Raj (3/10) and Maksodul (3/14) shone with the ball for Mawjam.
