SHILLONG, Dec 29: In keeping with its commitment to raise the ‘happiness index’ of border residents in remote villages along the Indo-Bangla border amid this festive season, the 55 Battalion Border Security Force (BSF) under SHQ BSF Tura, Dobasipara, sent their orchestra band to put up a show for the border-dwellers to make their moments more jubilant in celebrations.
The band performed to the tunes of chartbuster hits as well as local songs for the border residents in villages falling under the border area of 55 Bn BSF in South Garo Hills. The populace comprising children, youths and elders reveled and danced to the tunes of the songs performed by the BSF’s band.
Local singers were also given an opportunity to showcase their talent.
Moreover, combined cultural programmes have also been organised in remote villages at the international border on different dates starting December 24 and will continue up to the first week of the new year.
