Covid positive Assam minister was in Shillong on Jan 3

Shillong, Jan 7: A Cabinet Minister in Assam,  Pijush Hazarika  tested positive for COVID-19 on January 6. He is currently under home isolation with mild symptoms.

It may be reminded that Hazarika was in Shillong on January 3 to attend a meeting of one of the regional committees on border dispute.

Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, who was one of the attendees at the recent meeting, informed that after receiving the news of Hazarika testing COVID positive, he, along with other officials, immediately got themselves tested and all the reports came out negative.

“I have already tested through TrueNat and my report came out negative. We are responsible people. The moment we got the news, the circulation was made and mass testing was done. We don’t have any hestiation. I did my part and till now, my mask is regular and we maintain our distance. Just to inform you, So far, (I have) tested atleast 31 or 32 times,” Tynsong said on Friday.
