DC issues COVID curbs for EGH

TURA, Jan 6: In view of prevailing COVID-19 situation in Meghalaya, the East Garo Hills District Administration has issued a slew of restrictions in the district.
East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Swapnil Tembe has announced imposition of night curfew between 10 pm and 5 am every day.
On the other hand, all official, public and political gatherings have also been restricted in the district with weddings being permitted at 50 per cent capacity only in an enclosed space with a cap of 100 persons for open spaces.
Likewise, for funerals, a maximum of 50 persons have been permitted.
The order also stated that all persons entering the state, including fully vaccinated individuals, will have to either produce a negative RT-PCR report valid for 72 hours or will have to undergo an RT-PCR test at the entry point.
