NONGSTOIN, Jan 7: A man, identified as Shanborlang Wahlang of Umsaw village in West Khasi Hills, on Thursday at around 11 pm, intruded into the house of one Tlontisor Wahlang (46) of Umsaw Tyllang, while she was asleep with her 11-year-old daughter Ribianghun Wahlang, and reportedly assaulted the former, who is mentally unstable, while the latter was taken to another room and kept there.
The man later also warned the 11-year-old to keep mum about the incident and fled the scene.
Tlontisor, who was found later in an unconscious condition, was rushed to Nongstoin Hospital and was later transferred to Shillong.
Shanborlang was, meanwhile, nabbed on Friday afternoon from Nongstoin Market and a case has been registered against him.
It was also informed that Shanborlang, before going to the house of Tlontisor, met one Delsina Wahlang (20) and reportedly strangled her. Delsina, however, managed to flee to a nearby forest later.
The Umsaw unit and Mathadraishan circle of KSU have, meanwhile, condemned the incident and have sought action against him.
