SHILLONG, Jan 10: Lumpyngngad emerged champions of the Shillong Cricket Association Third Division league with a thrilling 14-run win over Mawsynram, here today.
Batting firs, Lumpyngngad did well to get to 140 before being dismissed off the penultimate ball. Sachin Kumar top-scored with 38 and was supported by Akash Dutta (29) to take the score to 140. Rickystone Nongbet claimed figures of 3/20.
However, Mawsynram fell 14 runs short, as they were restricted to 126/8 in 20 overs. Player-of-the-Match Raja Balmiki’s 3/28 and Kitlee Nongkhlaw’s 2/22 ensured the win for Lumpyngngad. Standingwell Nongsiej top-scored with 28.
The Player-of-the-Tournament went to Dutta of Lympyngngad, who scored 239 runs and claimed six wickets.
