TURA, Jan 10: With COVID-19 cases across India touching a new high every day and with Meghalaya already reporting cases of Omicron, West Garo Hills Ram Singh has appealed to the citizenry, who are in the vulnerable age group, to get inoculated with the booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

Informing that about 97 per cent of the people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the district, he urged people above 60 years of age with comorbid conditions, who already have completed nine months from the date of receiving the second dose of vaccination, to get booster the dose.
Additional DMHO of Tura, Bijoy Dev Barma, highlighted the importance of vaccination against COVID-19 among other necessary precautions.
During the meeting, DMCHO, Dr Ivonne M Sangma, informed that vaccination drives for the age group of 15-18 years will be arranged in schools.
