JOWAI, Jan 15: West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner Garod LSN Dykes on Friday handed over final electoral rolls to the representatives of political parties in the district.
The electoral rolls were handed over during a meeting, which was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Election) DD Syngai, Additional Deputy Commissioner Alexander Mukhim, Extra Assistant Commissioner WK Kharbuli, among others.
Briefing the representatives, Syngai informed that the strength of voters in the district, following the special summary revision of photo electoral rolls, has gone up.
She also thanked the political representatives, BLOs, supervisors and field officers for their effort and cooperation during the special summary revision.
The constituency break-up of voters in the district is 41,342 voters (20,167 male and 21,175 female) in Nartiang (ST), 38,701 voters (18,176 male and 20,525 female) in Jowai (ST), 37,562 voters (17,906 male and 19,656 female) in Raliang (ST), 36,452 voters (17, 879 male and 18,573 female) in Mowkaiaw (ST).
