TURA, Jan 16: Social activist, Peterjob A Sangma, who is also the president of the Achik Youths Movement for Betterment of the Society (AYMBS), has alleged foul play in the recruitment of teachers in Dadenggre Subdivision after an order to extend the date of submission of applications for teaching roles was made by the Directorate of School Education and Literacy (DSEL). “We have learnt from sources that MTET – 2019 qualified teachers are being deprived of teaching posts following an order by the DSEL on Dec 13 to extend the date of application submission. The motive, as far as we can see, is to merge the newly qualified MTET candidates to make them eligible,” said Peterjob.
The last date of submission of application earlier was December 10 as per the advertisement on December 2. This, as per the activist, is based on the implementation of the DSEL order issued on August 18.
“The Aug 18 order is a clear indication that this was for the preparation of the recruitment process for MTET 2019 teachers,” he added.
What has irked the AYBMS was that on January 3, 2022, a new order was issued extending the date even further until January 18, 2022, with the ‘excuse’ that the newly qualified MTET teachers were unable to apply due to the holiday season.
Condemning what they called ‘date changing game’ every week, the AYBMS has demanded that interviews be conducted separately for the MTET 2019 qualified candidates as soon as possible.
