North East Rural Talent Hunt for UPSC Examinations

Guwahati, January 19 : In a landmark initiative with a vision to support aspiring students from the rural areas of the Northeastern region to clear the Indian civil service examinations conducted  by the UPSC, the Vision 50 Academy has recently developed various innovative study modules from the secondary level onwards so that students can be groomed right from the early age for the toughest competitive examination of the country.

To achieve this goal of producing more successful candidates from the North East in UPSC examinations, the Vision 50 Academy, which is powered by ERD Foundation Guwahati and supported by USTM, will conduct a Talent Search Examination-2022 on 6th February inwhich school students from class 8 to class 12 can appear.

In the same test, NEET and JEE aspirants from class 10 and 12 will also be selected and the first 100 topers in the examination can avail 100 per cent scholarship for mentorship and preparation.

Addressing a press conference at KNB Women’s College Badarpur today, Mahbubul Hoque, the Chancellor of USTM and Chairman of ERD Foundation said, “ERDF is committed to serve the society by providing the best possible support to the aspirants for cracking the prestigious national level competitive examinations. It will also take necessary measures for creating awareness among the school children particularly from the remote areas of the region. ERDF will also provide financial support for the preparation of such examinations so that brilliant students can avail the facilities and clear these examinations in large numbers who will in turn contribute in the nation building process”.

Hoque stated that in order to give a shape to this flagship initiative, the Vision 50 Academy has planned to conduct a North East level Talent Hunt Examination-2022 for the rural children under three categories to identify the talented students who will be able to prepare for UPSC Examinations simultaneously along with their studies in their respective schools. In the 1st category students from Class VII / IX will go for Module-1, in the 2nd category Class X students will go for Module –II and in the 3rd category class XII students will go for Module-III. The students can apply for the Talent Hunt Examination and get the detailed information by visiting the website www.vision50.org.

The examination will be conducted in pen and paper mode. The last date of submission of online application is 30th January 2022.

The selected students will undergo a systematic mentorial programme where weekend offline and online sessions will be conducted by experienced mentors until the students reach their UG Course preferably for Bachelor of Administration and Governance (BAAG) Course. BAAG is a unique UG course especially designed at USTM for UPSC aspirants to prepare for the Examination simultaneously while pursuing their graduation so that without any loss of time they can crack the Civil Services Examinations easily.

In addition to regular mentorial sessions, necessary counselling and guidance shall also be provided to the students on a regular basis so that they can access quality magazines, online materials and Newspapers etc. from their homes.

In the test for NEET and JEE on the same day and venue, the top 100 ranked candidates in the talent hunt exam will avail 100 per cent scholarship, 101 to 200 rankers will avail 50 per cent scholarship and 201 to 300 rankers will avail 30 per cent scholarship.
