SHILLONG, Jan 18: Shillong Sixers and The XI will meet in the final of the 9th Ardhendu Chaudhuri Memorial Invitational Tennis Ball Day & Night Cricket Tournament after winning their respective matches, here on Tuesday.
In the first semi-final, Keating Road chose to bat first after winning the toss against Shillong Sixers, posting a challenging 78/3 in the allotted 8 overs. Shillong Sixers chased down the target in 7.4 overs, losing four wickets in the process. Shillong Sixers’ Sandeep Roy was adjudged Player-of-the-Match for his knock of 20 besides taking 2 wickets.
Later, Young Guns scored 38 runs in 8 overs after electing to bat first against The XI. The target proved too small for The XI as they scored 42 runs in 4.5 overs with three wickets to spare. Swarajeet Das walked away with the Player-of-the-Match award for picking 3 wickets and contributing 9 runs with the bat.
