SHILLONG, Jan 22: Raj Bhavan and NEPA won their respective semi-final matches to set up a clash in the Shillong Cricket Association Second Division final, here on Saturday besides earning qualification to next season’s First Division league.
In the first semi-final, Jersey Kings batted first after winning the toss against Raj Bhavan, before being bowled out for 99 in 20 overs. Vijay Sunar top-scored with 21 runs while Player-of-the-Match Sunil Yadav picked up 3/13 from his 4 overs. Tarak Sinha returned figures of 3/21.
Raj Bhawan knocked off the required target in 16.5 overs to finish 100/3, winning by 7 wickets. Kiran Ram scored 32 runs. Sanjeev Rai took 1/14.
In the other semi-final, Sumer batted first against NEPA, scoring 100/8 in 20 overs. Utpal Sharma was the highest scorer with 23 runs. For NEPA, Manikant Sinha took 2/12 while Player-of-the-Match Subrata Sinha finished figures of 2/14 from 4 overs.
In reply, NEPA scored 101/8 in 17.3 overs with Subrata scoring 24 runs and Labesh Roy contributing a valuable 22 off 18 balls. Baddonam John Mylliemngap took 3/25 for Sumer.
