318 fresh cases, one death

SHILLONG, Jan 23: The state on Sunday recorded 318 fresh COVID-19 cases while one more patient succumbed to the viral infection taking the death toll to 1,497.
The active tally stands at 2,121 while 84,841 people have recovered from the viral infection including 198 on the day.
201 fresh cases were reported in East Khasi Hills, 70 in West Garo Hills, 24 in Ri-Bhoi, eight in South West Garo Hills, six in West Jaintia Hills, three in Eastern West Khasi Hills, two each in South West Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills and one each in East Jaintia Hills and South Garo Hills.
