Police arrest Assam man with drugs in WGH

TURA, Jan 24: West Garo Hills (WGH) Police on Monday arrested one, Sohidul Islam, for carrying as many as 210 Yaba tablets under the Purakhasia Outpost, Dalu, in the district.
The arrested smuggler is said to hail from Dakirgao village, Mankachar, South Salmara in Assam.
Police sources from the district said that information was received of a consignment being smuggled, leading later on to the person being intercepted by police and BSF men from the area.
Confirming the bust, the Superintendent of Police, WGH, Vivekanand Singh said that an investigation has been initiated as he also expressed that it is too early to suspect the involvement of a larger gang of criminals in this case.
