Shillong, Jan 27: The Meghalaya Cabinet meeting held today discussed the issue pertaining to the inter-state boundary disputes talks with Assam.
The Cabinet decided to “iron out” the final issues that are pending before the next meeting with the Assam chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma informed that almost 98 percent of the border dispute in six out of the 12 ‘areas of difference’ had been sorted out.
He hoped that in the next meeting, the two CMs would be able to reach an agreement in the remaining two percent of the issue.
It was informed that both the CMs would be meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah sometime towards the end of this month or early next month
