COVID19 patient successfully operated upon in Tura Civil Hospital

Shillong, Jan 29: A team of doctors in Tura Civil Hospital today successfully carried out a surgery (intestinal perforation) on an COVID-19 patient at the hospital.

It was first such surgery carried out on a COVID19 patient in the hospital so far given that administering general anaesthesia for COVID 19 patient is very risky and very challenging for both the anaesthesiologist and the surgeon.

The team of doctors comprised of Dr Lee Roger Ch Marak, Dr Stevie Jaseng N Sangma, Dr Bonse R Sangma.

The doctors were assisted by Junior nursing officers Silsila R Sangma and Astik Tserenga, OT Technicians Chechong Ch Marak and OT assistant Markash Marak.
