Exemption
The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has exempted candidates appearing for the I-person Exams conducted by IIT Madras and the Physical Efficiency Test for recruitment to the post of Junior Grade – MPS under Home (Political) department, conducted by the Meghalaya Public Service Commission, from the purview of the odd and even rule for vehicular movement. As per the order, students appearing for the aforesaid examinations to be held on January 30, and from January 31 to February 4 respectively, will have to furnish their hall ticket/admit card as proof.

Unclaimed body
One male person, Krishna Singh, aged approximately 56 years, was referred from MIMHANS to Shillong Civil Hospital on January 24 but was declared dead during treatment by the attending Medical Officer at Shillong Civil Hospital at around 2 pm on January 25. Meanwhile, the body has been kept at hospital morgue for claim after autopsy and other legal formalities. The deceased is approximately 5-feet tall and has a dark complexion; he was wearing mixed green T-shirt, a black sweater, jean trousers. All concerned have been asked to contact 0364-2224818 or 0364-2591545 or 0364-2222214 for identification and claim.

Saraswati Puja
