HILLONG, Jan 31: Meghalaya State Olympic Association (MSOA) working president, John F Kharshiing said that as per records, All Meghalaya Karate Association (AMKA) is the only association affiliated and recognised by the state body.
Kharshiing, had on Thursday said that they have also informed the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) that the affiliated body with MSOA is AMKA.
According to him, the MSOA has nothing to do with the presence and activities of the Meghalaya State Karate-Do Federation (MSKDF) and that they are free to do as they wish.
“We cannot recognise two bodies for the same discipline at the same time,” MSOA working president said.
The MSOA working president also appealed to students and young athletes to verify with the respective state associations before taking part in any events held outside the state.
“We have seen that there are students who had recently taken part in taekwondo events that were not recognised by the Taekwondo Federation of India (TOI),” Kharshiing added.
